Technology That Keeps Classrooms Teaching, Not Troubleshooting.
1ICT builds and supports the digital backbone of South African schools, colleges and universities — campus Wi-Fi, computer labs, Microsoft 365 Education, learner-safe networks and on-site technical support.
What we hear from school leadership
A computer lab that was donated but has not worked properly in years
Wi-Fi that covers the admin block and nothing else
No one on site who can fix a projector, printer or network drop before the next period starts
Learner and guardian records sitting on a single unbacked-up office computer
1ICT treats a school as a campus, not an office. We design for shared devices, seasonal budgets, mixed-age users and the reality that a fault during period two cannot wait until next week.
What We Deliver to Education
Campus Wi-Fi & Networks
Coverage across classrooms, halls, labs and hostels, with separated staff, learner and guest networks.
Computer Labs
Lab design, device imaging, shared sign-in, printing and physical security — built to survive daily use.
Microsoft 365 Education
Tenant setup, verification for education pricing, Teams for classes, OneDrive and mailboxes for staff and learners.
Learner-Safe Filtering
Content filtering, device policies and usage reporting so learner access stays appropriate and accountable.
CCTV & Access Control
Gate and corridor cameras, visitor management and controlled access to labs and server rooms.
Staff Enablement
Practical training for educators and admin staff so the tools are actually used after handover.
How a School Engagement Runs
Campus walk-through
We assess buildings, cabling, existing devices, connectivity and the security of learner data.
Scoped proposal
A phased plan with costs per term or per year, so governing bodies can approve in stages.
Install between terms
Cabling, Wi-Fi, labs and licensing are delivered in holiday windows wherever possible to protect teaching time.
Ongoing support
Remote monitoring plus scheduled on-site visits, with a named contact for the school's IT champion.
2030 by 2030 — Digital Labs for Schools
1ICT runs an independent, privately-driven programme to deliver 2030 digital labs to South African schools by 2030. It is our own initiative, aligned to national education goals rather than operating as a government partnership. Schools can be nominated, and funders can partner with us to sponsor a lab.

Common Questions from Schools
Do schools qualify for discounted Microsoft licensing?+
Yes. Registered educational institutions can access Microsoft 365 Education licensing, which includes Teams, OneDrive and Office apps for staff and learners at heavily reduced or no cost. 1ICT handles the verification and tenant setup.
Can you filter and manage what learners access online?+
Yes. We deploy content filtering, per-device policies and separated staff/learner networks so learner devices reach learning resources only, with reporting for school management.
Do you support computer labs and shared devices?+
We build and support shared-device labs — imaging, kiosk profiles, shared sign-in, printing and physical security — including the labs delivered through our 2030 by 2030 programme.
How do you handle learner data under POPIA?+
Learner and guardian information is treated as sensitive personal information. We configure retention, access control, audit logging and encrypted backups, and document the processing for your governing body.
Can you work within a school's budget cycle?+
Yes. We quote per term or per annum and align billing with school fee and grant cycles rather than forcing a rigid monthly commitment.
